HOW IT WORKS
Your paycheck is structured in three steps that work together so your take-home pay stays the same — or increases.
PRE-TAX DEDUCTION
1 - A Section 125 deduction reduces your taxable income
Before taxes are calculated, a deduction is applied to your gross pay. This lowers the income you are taxed on — reducing what you owe in federal, state, and FICA taxes each pay period.
POST-TAX BENEFIT CONTRIBUTION
2 - The tax savings fund your wellness benefit
The reduction in your tax withholdings generates savings. Those savings cover the cost of your Revive Health wellness benefit — so the benefit pays for itself through the tax structure.
NON-TAXABLE REIMBURSEMENT
3 - The deduction is returned to you tax-free
The full amount of the Section 125 deduction is reimbursed to you as a non-taxable reimbursement on the same paycheck. Because your tax burden is lower, your take-home pay may increase.

No. Your take-home pay will not decrease. Because the benefit uses a Section 125 pre-tax deduction that lowers your taxable income, most employees see a small increase in net pay. The example paycheck above shows take-home pay increasing from $566.32 to $603.03.
